Klas Restaurant is a unique and wonderful place! According to one Yelp Reviewer:
"Klas is one of the few remaining authentic Czech restaurants and it has been in operation since 1922. . . . Klas Restaurant is part of the Czechs' history in the Windy City - like the Bohemian National Cemetery, Thalia Hall, Pilsen Park and Brewery, Thomas G. Masaryk School, or Soldier Field - and worth a visit if you like historic buildings or you are interested in authentic Czech dishes."
Al Capone used to meet his cronies and play cards with them at Klas Restaurant. There are photos and souvenirs about Capone and about Czechoslovakia throughout the restaurant. There was also a bordello on the second floor (Six small rooms, each with just enough space for one small bed.)
Dinner will take place in the party room on the second floor. The room features a large fireplace (cozy for a cold day in January) and magnificent paintings on the walls which depict Russian folk tales, including "The Firebird"!
